I tested the FORZA Flash Square Pop-Up Goal (7ft x 5ft) with my two football-mad boys, aged eight and six.

Here's how it went together, how it held up, and the one thing I'd do differently.

Quick Verdict

A brilliant lightweight garden goal that pops up and down in seconds and the boys loved using.

I picked one of FORZA’s larger pop-up goals and it turned out to be more than I wanted to carry to the park.

If you want a goal for taking out and about, I recommend going for one of FORZA's smaller sizes.

But if you’re looking for a relatively cheap garden goal option that’s a decent size for kids aged 5+, this will do the job perfectly.

The Scores

Starlet Media review

FORZA Flash Square Pop-Up Goal (7ft x 5ft)

Assembly 9/10
Opening and folding 10/10
Value 10/10

Great in the garden. Think smaller for the park.

Tested by Rob with two football-mad boys. Gifted by FORZA; all opinions are my own.

Assembly: Straightforward, With One Two-Person Step

Everything arrived in one compact, neatly packed cardboard box, which made a good first impression.

The written instructions could be more detailed for anyone who gets nervous around flat-pack (me included), but FORZA has a one-minute YouTube video that walks you through it, which came in handy.

Most of the build was simple. The last stage, connecting the two frames together, needed a second pair of hands, so my wife and I did it together and soon had it sorted.

It took about 10 minutes in total. Someone more practical than me would probably find it a doddle. I suspect the smaller sizes are easier at that final stage, but I haven't tested them yet.

Opening and Folding: The Best Bit

FORZA pop-up goal folded down

Once the FORZA pop-up goal is built, it goes up and comes down extremely easily.

We’re literally talking 5-10 seconds to pop up or down.

It really is that simple, and it matters when you don't want football gear permanently taking over the garden.

Testing it With The Boys

The boys took turns in goal, but both much preferred being the one shooting (as always).

I went in goal too and was beaten at my near post a couple of times. I never was a great keeper!

It was a sunny day with a breeze, and our back garden is astroturf.

The goal stayed put even without being pegged down. I can't speak for natural grass, though, but I'd still peg it in on a windy day.

Having the goal pegged down should also stop it moving about too much after being hit with powerful shots.

Size and Portability: My Mistake

FORZA Goal in back garden

I'd planned to review the goal at the park, but I ended up testing it in the garden, which is on me for picking one of the bigger sizes..

Folded, it measures roughly 76 inches wide and 58 inches tall (about 195cm x 150cm), which matches FORZA's listing.

You can carry it, but I didn't fancy it with other kit to take and two young kids to look after on the way and when crossing roads. So we stayed home instead on this occasion.

If you'll be walking to the park regularly, I'd go smaller, or only buy this size if you have a big car or van.

A small carry bag came in the box with mine, but it isn't big enough for the goal itself, so it doesn't solve the carrying problem.

FORZA's listing says only the three smallest sizes are supplied with a carry bag, so don't assume the 7ft x 5ft will include one.

I haven't tested the other sizes yet, so I can't say which is best.

Which Size Should You Buy?

Go for the 7ft x 5ft if you want a roomy target for the garden, or you have a large boot or van to take it out in.

Choose a smaller size if you'll be carrying it on foot.

If you have very young children (aged five or under), it could also be worth going for one of the smaller pop-up goals.

That said, it’s worth bearing in mind that smaller goals can help to improve older kids’ accuracy.

Final Verdict

FORZA goal label

The boys love it (most importantly), it opens and folds in seconds, and it held up well in our garden test.

Assembly took about 10 minutes and needed a second person for the last step, and the paper instructions could be a little clearer, but FORZA's video fills the gap.

Just think about transport before you choose a size.

It's a bargain £27.99 on FORZA's website at the time of writing (October 2026), down from the usual £47.99.

For a goal this size, I'd call it fantastic value at that price, and still good value if you can find it for under £40. Prices change, so check before you buy.
